About
Justin Kaufman — MarTech & RevOps solutions architect, based in Charleston, SC. Remote-first.
I design and ship the systems that connect marketing, sales, and operations. Discovery, architecture, integration, enablement — end to end, inside the same brain. Most of my work lives at the seams between an ERP, a website, a data source, and the people who have to touch all three every day.
How I work
I start by listening — to the people doing the work, not just the people buying the tool. Then I map what’s really happening: where data lives, where it’s duplicated, where handoffs break down, and what the off-the-shelf tool is quietly charging for. From there I design something leaner, usually in-house, and integrate it into the workflows already in motion. I care as much about the training and documentation afterward as the architecture itself — a system nobody adopts isn’t a system.
Stack & domains
- ERP & operations: Odoo (Contacts, Website, product data, service accounts), XML-based field configuration, data modeling for single-source-of-truth design.
- Web & front end: Astro, JavaScript, HTML, CSS, Tailwind, WordPress, responsive systems, dynamic data-driven pages.
- Integration: REST APIs, Google Maps / Autocomplete, service-account auth patterns, webhook and sync logic.
- Agentic systems with purpose-built harnesses: task-scoped LLM workflows with tool allowlists, structured prompts, MCP integrations, and guardrails — not generic chat wrappers. Built with Claude and Claude Code, ChatGPT, and scripted pipelines.
- Design: brand systems, publication design, product visuals, and the Adobe Creative Suite underneath it all.
Background
Fifteen-plus years in visual design. A decade-plus building for the web. For the past five, I’ve operated as an entire marketing department — catalogs, trade-show GTM, digital campaigns, eCommerce, compliance, and the internal tools that held it all together. That context is the reason the systems work I do now is grounded in how teams actually operate: sales reps on a show floor, customer service answering the same question for the fifth time this week, a COO who just wants one source of truth.
How I like to work
Remote-first, asynchronous-by-default. Partnering with teams on discovery, architecture, and integration work where the systems need to start talking to each other. Drawn to B2B, SaaS, commerce, and industrial problems — places where marketing, sales, and ops data has historically lived in different filing cabinets and somebody finally wants to fix it.
